LMA – HYDROGEN IN THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Mark Macdonald, Senior Adjuster at Lloyd Warwick made a presentation to Lloyds’ Market Association on 14^th April 2021 about the role of hydrogen in the energy transition. He discussed

• Some of the current and potential uses of hydrogen
• The different sources of hydrogen
• Some of the challenges involved in hydrogen storage and transportation.

Attendees gained an overview and understanding of how hydrogen will fit into the overall energy transition and how it will be a necessary component to achieve net zero emissions targets by 2050. It will prove a major challenge to produce sufficient hydrogen cleanly and economically, and to manage the risks created.
